Of course you only have to configure POP3 or IMAP to fetch your e-mails.
From now on the user name is the e-mail address, e. g. ab@domain.de.
Web Mailer
Please use the Web Mailer to read/write e-mail or configure the settings.
Autoconfig
With a bit of luck clients like Thunderbird can fetch the config automatically. To do so the e-mail client fetches the config info from e. g. this url. If you call that by hand please change the link to your e-mail address.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work for Apple clients yet. Working on it...
